PSYCHOLOGICAL FEATURES OF THE INTERNET ON THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN PEOPLE

The internet has transformed how people form, maintain, and experience relationships, influencing social dynamics on a psychological level. This paper explores the psychological features of the internet that impact human relationships, including increased accessibility, anonymity, immediacy, and the availability of vast social networks. These elements can foster a sense of connection and belonging but may also contribute to isolation, superficial interactions, and dependency on online validation. The internet enables individuals to present idealized versions of themselves, which may lead to increased self-consciousness and identity fragmentation. Anonymity can encourage self-expression but can also fuel negative behaviors, including cyberbullying and disinhibition, affecting trust and interpersonal closeness. Additionally, the ease of maintaining multiple relationships online can result in diluted intimacy and reduced social accountability. This paper aims to analyze how these factors shape relationships by examining empirical studies and theoretical perspectives on digital socialization. Understanding the psychological influences of the internet on human connections provides insight into both the potential benefits and challenges that digital platforms introduce into social life.

PSYCHOLOGICAL CHARACTERISTICS OF THE IMPACT OF SOCIAL NETWORKS ON THE PSYCHE OF ADOLESCENTS

The widespread use of social networks has significantly influenced the psychological development and well-being of adolescents. This paper examines the key psychological characteristics of this impact, including both positive and negative effects. Social networks serve as platforms for identity exploration, peer interaction, and self-expression, offering opportunities for personal growth and social connection. However, they also expose adolescents to risks such as cyberbullying, social comparison, and excessive screen time, which can contribute to anxiety, depression, and diminished self-esteem. The phenomenon of Fear of Missing Out (FOMO) and the constant need for validation further intensify the emotional and psychological challenges faced by adolescents. Additionally, the interplay between social media addiction and its effects on attention span and emotional regulation is analyzed. By understanding these dynamics, this study aims to highlight the importance of fostering healthy digital habits and promoting resilience among adolescents in the context of social media use.

THE ROLE OF LANGUAGE IN SOCIAL IDENTITY CONSTRUCTION AND GROUP RELATIONSHIPS

This paper explores how language serves as a tool for expressing and constructing social identities, focusing on the use of foreign words, discourse configurations, and social categorization in communication. Drawing from various social and cultural contexts, including the reunification of Germany and immigration in Argentina, the paper investigates how linguistic forms and membership categorization shape social identities. It examines the impact of foreign borrowings (foreignisms), the ways in which group relations are communicated, and the influence of social categorization in the construction of group dynamics. Through an analysis of conversational practices, this study demonstrates that group relationships are not static but are continuously constructed and negotiated through discourse. Additionally, the paper addresses the complexities of how different social groups use language to define boundaries, express solidarity, and assert power, arguing that the structure of group relations is a constant mechanism, while the content varies according to the context and linguistic properties.

THE ROLE OF DIALECT IN AMERICAN SOUTHERN LITERATURE

The role of dialect in South American English (SAE) is crucial in the formation of regional identity, social interaction and cultural heritage. The dialect of southern English is a marker of identity, often signaling the social, geographical and cultural context of the speaker. It plays a role in promoting a sense of community and perpetuating social divisions, as the linguistic characteristics of Southeastern English are sometimes associated with stereotypes about intelligence, education and social class. Although Southeastern English continues to evolve and is subject to the influence of media and migration, it remains a vital part of Southern culture and heritage, reinforcing the diversity of American English.

FAMILY HONOUR AS THE CENTRAL INSTITUTION IN DIFFERENT SOCIETIES AND A PERSON'S SOCIAL IDENTITY

This article is about family honour in different countries and people’s social identity, Masculine honor has been found to explain
the relationship between insults and aggression in the USA. However, detailed accounts of Mediterranean honor cultures suggest that family honor may be more important in explaining cross-cultural differences in aggression. Two studies revealed that people from Turkish honor culture intended to aggress more after being insulted than Dutch people from a nonhonor culture, and that this effect was driven by differences in family honor rather than differences in masculine honor. We posit that family honor may be a key factor in explaining insult-related aggression in Mediterranean honor cultures.

THE REFLECTION OF SLAVERY IN AMERICAN LITERATURE AND THE ROLE OF AFRICAN AMERICAN WRITERS

The legacy of slavery has profoundly shaped American literature, serving as both a historical record and a means of cultural expression. Early narratives such as slave narratives by Frederick Douglass, Harriet Jacobs, and Olaudah Equiano provided firsthand testimonies of the brutality of slavery while asserting the humanity and resilience of enslaved people. These works not only contributed to abolitionist movements but also established a literary foundation for African American voices. In the post-slavery era, African American writers like W.E.B. Du Bois, Langston Hughes, Zora Neale Hurston, and Ralph Ellison continued to explore the psychological, social, and cultural consequences of enslavement, weaving themes of racial identity, resistance, and self-determination. Contemporary authors such as Toni Morrison, Alice Walker, and Colson Whitehead reinterpret slavery through historical fiction and metafiction, emphasizing memory, trauma, and intergenerational impact. By engaging with the history of slavery, American literature reveals the deep scars of racial injustice while highlighting the enduring role of African American writers in shaping national narratives. Their works challenge dominant discourses, reconstruct silenced histories, and assert African American cultural identity, ensuring that the memory of slavery remains central to the understanding of U.S. history and literature.

SPEECH ETIQUETTE AS A COMPONENT OF THE CULTURAL MINIMUM

Language is more than a tool for communication — it is a mirror of the soul, a reflection of one’s identity, values, and upbringing. The way we speak, the words we choose, and the tone we use all contribute to the impression we leave on others. Speech etiquette, or the culture of speech, is the ability to communicate thoughtfully, respectfully, and in accordance with social norms. It is one of the most visible signs of a person’s level of education and cultural awareness.
